♥ Mothers Day is coming ♥

At Sky Flowers, we love getting prepared for special events, and this time, we’re talking about Mother’s Day, coming up VERY soon. Although Mother’s Day is celebrated on different dates depending on each country, May 8th is an extra important date for us to celebrate every mother around the world. Today we’re sharing a few fun facts you maybe never knew about this day!

  1. Mother’s Day is the biggest flower buying day of the year. Did you know that flower sales increase around 70% on Mother’s Day, compared with most other days of the year?

  2. Mother’s Day is one of the most popular days of the year for eating out. Start thinking about your mom’s favorite restaurant to spoil her the way she deserves!

  3. In America, Mother’s Day was founded by Anna Jarvis. In the States, Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1907, thanks to Jarvis. Ironically, she later went on to protest the holiday, criticizing how overly commercialized it had become. Still, it’s nice to treat Mom once in a while and remind her that she is loved.

  4. Mother’s Day is celebrated in 46 countries around the world.

  5. More calls are made on Mother's Day than any other day of the year. Reportedly there are approximately 122 million calls are made on the second Sunday of May every year.

  6. In 2018, over $23 Billion was spent on Mother's Day. On average, shoppers spend $180 on gifts for their mothers. A nationwide total of $4.6 billion was spent on jewelry and $4.4 billion on dinners or brunches.

Are you convinced now that the most important gift for your moms, besides your unconditional love on this day is obviously a BIG, beautiful bouquet of her favorite Hydrangeas? We know that Mother’s Day usually revolves around bright colors like reds, pinks, whites, or yellow, and at Sky Flowers, we have every single color to choose from. Dare to make this day extra special, happier, and more joyful with the presence of flowers on your mom’s day.
